Aral AG

Aral is a brand of automobile fuels and gas stations, present in Germany, Luxembourg and the Czech Republic. The company behind the brand name, Aral AG (previously Veba Oel AG), is currently owned by BP. The name Aral is a portmanteau of the German words "Aromaten" and "Aliphaten", alluding to the aromatic and aliphatic components found in gasoline, respectively.

On July 15, 2001, it was agreed that 51% of the stakes in Veba Oel AG would be acquired by Deutsche BP AG. Beginning February 1, 2002, the acquisition of Aral by Deutsche BP AG was completed. The Aral brand name is still used, and nearly all BP stations in Germany have been rebranded to Aral. However in Poland, the Netherlands and further nations the Aral brand was totally removed - all of the former Aral filling stations were renamed to BP's. Aral's slogan is "Alles super".
