Juan José Elhuyar



Juan José Elhuyar Lubize (June 15,1754 – September 20,1796) was a Spanish chemist and mineralogist, the joint discoverer of tungsten with his brother Fausto Elhuyar in 1783.

He was born in Logroño, and died in Santafé de Bogotá, (Nowadays Colombia but then Kingdom of Spain).
