07-08-2010: Wacker, the Munich-based chemical group, began supplying vinyl acetate ethylene (VAE) copolymer dispersions from its plant in Nanjing, China, on July 1. The fully integrated site offers VAE copolymer dispersions and dispersible polymer powders for the construction, coatings, adhesives and other industries.
The Wacker Nanjing site is a fully integrated world-class production complex which serves the entire product line from vinyl acetate ethylene copolymer dispersions to dispersible polymer powders. Located in the Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park, the site produces VINNAPAS® VAE copolymer dispersions with a current capacity of about 50,000 metric tons per year, depending on product mix. In addition, the Nanjing site offers an annual capacity of 30,000 metric tons of dispersible powder. It is the largest plant of its kind in China. Wacker has a staff of some 100 employees at its Nanjing facility.
“The local production of VINNAPAS® copolymer dispersions allows us to respond to the local market needs“, explains Ginger Merritt, Vice President of Wacker’s polymers business in Greater China, “and it enables us to guarantee our customers in China reliable supply and consistent product quality. The Nanjing plant investment reinforces our position as a leading supplier of VAE copolymer dispersions and our commitment to the Chinese market.”
