31-03-2011: Davy Process Technology Limited (DPT), a Johnson Matthey company, and The Dow Chemical Company’s Oxygenated Solvents business, announced the licensing of a new 140 kta 2-ethylhexanol plant utilizing LP OxoSM SELECTORSM 10 Technology in the Shandong Province, People’s Republic of China. This is the 13th LP OxoSM license to be granted in China and the 45th project utilizing LP OxoSM Process Technology.

LP OxoSM SELECTORSM Technology is a low-pressure hydroformylation process that is most commonly used with propylene and synthesis gas (a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide) to produce normal- and isobutyraldehydes. These butyraldehydes are then converted into 2-ethylhexanol (2EH) and normal- and isobutanol.
