Dow Performance Monomers Increases Capacity of 2-Ethyl Hexyl Acrylate Used in Paints, Coatings, Textiles and Adhesives

09-Sep-2011 - USA

The Performance Monomers business of The Dow Chemical Company announces a 15% increase in capacity for the production of 2-Ethyl Hexyl Acrylate (2-EHA) at its Hahnville, Louisiana facility.  This results from a successful debottlenecking initiative that addresses Dow’s need to increase 2-EHA capacity for its domestic customers as well as deliver innovation improvements to further improve reliability and sustainability.

Chad Holzer, North America Business Director for Performance Monomers states, “Our customers participate in many diverse and value added applications.  As one of few domestic producers of 2-EHA, this added capacity further positions Dow for growth with strategic customers and establishes our continued dedication towards improving reliability.  The 2-EHA debottlenecking effort not only delivers a significant increase in capacity, but also highlights the significant reliability improvements Dow has made over the year.”
