12-04-2012: Wacker, the Munich-based chemical company, has expanded the service portfolio at its technical center in Singapore. The center of excellence located in Singapore Science Park now also includes laboratories, applications technology and test equipment for polymer dispersions needed as binders for interior architectural paints in the coatings industry. This expansion not only enables Wacker to help its local customers develop new and customized products, but also encourages the exchange of know-how and promotes internationally recognized quality standards in the region.
The expansion was made necessary by the region’s strong economic growth, particularly with regard to sophisticated paint and coating applications. This measure will help Wacker to further bolster its position as the market and technology leader for vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer (VAE) dispersions. The company therefore continues investing in its Singapore technical center to augment and refine its expertise in research and development (R&D), as well as its local applications technology and customer service.
