Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP  announced it is studying the possibility of expanding its normal alpha olefins (NAO) capacity – targeting at least a 20 percent increase in a phased approach – at its Cedar Bayou Chemical Complex in Baytown and the company has filed the necessary environmental permit application with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Construction would be targeted to commence in the first quarter of 2014, and the project would be completed in the fourth quarter of 2015. Final approval would be sought in the third quarter of 2013.
