X-Rite Partners With ABB to Deliver Complete Color Control Solution
10-15-2002: Barcelona Oct. 14, 2002 - X-Rite, Incorporated, a leading global provider of technology solutions measuring color, light and shape, today announced a unique partnership with the printing business unit of ABB. In a joint effort, X-Rite will combine its ATD News Scanning Densitometer with ABB's MPS Control Console to deliver a complete closed-loop color measurement solution for profiling the press. This comprehensive solution optically measures color levels from a unique test image on newspaper copy and automatically sets ink zone values correspondingly for rapid and reliable quality control.
"As leaders in their respective fields, X-Rite and ABB are proud to work together to bring forth a powerful solution for our newspaper customers around the world," says Joan Andrew, Vice President of X-Rite's International Business Unit.
Some of the benefits of this solution include:
-- Fast color adjustments
-- Consistent high quality of color critical advertising
-- Reduced human error
-- Minimized waste and ink use
-- Self-calibrates before each measurement
"ABB continues to be first to market with fresh, new ideas designed to help newspapers improve their processes and profitability," says Wolfgang Felber, General Manager of ABB's Printing Business Unit.
The solution will be promoted and as an IFRA first, exhibiting at X-Rite's booth (#1450) and ABB's booth (#0350) for the duration of the IFRA trade fair in Barcelona, Spain.
