SensIR Technologies' and Perkin Elmer form Strategic Partnership
13-07-2001: SensIR Technologies, a leading innovator of
FT-IR spectroscopic instrumentation and Perkin Elmer
Instruments, a world leader in scientific instrumentation and
software, today announced an agreement to form a strategic
partnership
SensIR’s new TravelIR, the world’s first portable spectroscopic
analyzer, will be the first new product brought to market under
the new partnership. By creating a truly portable system,
analysis can take place at the sample site allowing faster
decisions based upon reliable results. Instead of waiting while
samples are sent to a laboratory for analysis, fact based
decisions can be made right where the samples are taken. In
the areas of forensic science, environmental management, and
as both an incoming materials and final product quality control
inspection tool, TravelIR brings more than just analysis to the
field site. The development of application specific software
packages that are custom designed for the application allow
non-technical personnel to use the instrument to verify a
material or substance with little technical training.
According to Bob Sebes, President/CEO of SensIR Technologies,
“ This strategic partnership with Perkin Elmer Instruments allows
us to penetrate a variety of markets faster by using the
worldwide sales organization, marketing, and business acumen
of a recognized world leader. We are proud to be able to
partner with such a dynamic innovator, and look forward to a
long and successful relationship. From government to private
industry, Perkin Elmer Instruments is well known and respected
as a market innovator.”
“The partnership with SensIR Technologies dramatically broadens
our capabilities in portable instrumentation,” according to Michael
H. Elliot, vice president and general manager for the
pharmaceutical and food analysis business units at Perkin Elmer
Instruments. “We believe that the trend towards portable
instrumentation is driven by the need for immediate information
at the production site. TravelIR brings FT-IR analysis right to our
customers sample site. We are very excited about this new
product and its ability to provide a solution for Perkin Elmer’s
customers.”
