Ethanol REACH Organisation obtained Legal Status

Offers Joint Registration Initiative for the Ethanol Industry

23-Dec-2008 - Netherlands

The Ethanol REACH organisation (EtOH-REACH) obtained legal status, enabling interested parties to join formally and benefit from easy registration of substances under REACH. The bylaws are now available online. The Ethanol REACH Association has been set up by ethanol manufacturers in Europe in response to the legal obligation to register ethanol under the EU’s REACH regulation.

EtOH-REACH offers its Members the opportunity to jointly submit high-quality dossiers for registration. Members participating in Joint Submission do not have to produce the dossiers individually, saving each of them time, money and other valuable company resources. Members gain easy access to the necessary dossiers and other useful information at a fraction of the actual cost. Membership to the Ethanol REACH association is open to all manufacturers (both EU and non-EU), importers, non-EU formulators, ethanol trade associations and others that have an interest in the registration of ethanol.

The bulk of the cost will be borne by members marketing over 1.000 tonnes per year. Smaller contributions will be required from companies marketing smaller amounts and from members who are not themselves obliged to register under REACH, such as trade associations.
