The new Millex® 13 mm syringe filter from Millipore, which is used in thousands of laboratories worldwide to prepare samples for critical techniques including HPLC, UHPLC, and LC-MS, has been redesigned to provide greater speed and recovery than conventional syringe filters of the same size.
As increasing filtration speed also increases pressure on the filter housing, the new 13 mm filter utilizes a novel, Millipore-patented housing design, that withstands operating pressures up to 10 bar and therefore allows for faster filtration. It has 50% less sample hold-up volume, so more sample is recovered after filtration. In addition, the new device is low in extractables that can be inadvertently detected by sensitive analytical instruments.
The new 13 mm Millex syringe filter can be used to prepare from 1 to 10 mL of sample. It is available in two pore sizes and four membrane materials: polyethersulfone (PES), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), nylon, and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF). The housing is color-coded by membrane type for easy identification.
The device is compatible with a wide range of solvents and other chemicals, which makes it well suited for all analytical applications and sample types.
