The LECO TruMac® is the new benchmark for the elemental analysis of Carbon, Nitrogen and Sulfur in the macro sample range. It can be used for organic and many inorganic sample matrices up to 5 gram of sample weight. Re-usable ceramic sample boats are ideal for the rapid analysis of homogenous and inhomogeneous sample material.
The combustion in pure Oxygen at temperatures up to 1450°C leads to a 100% recovery, also for “difficult” samples and especially for Sulfur. Fast analysis times of about 4 minutes for all samples, independent on sample matrix, results a high throughout and short “start up” times.
Low analysis costs and chemicals lasting for more than 2000 analysis are a result of the well proved “ballast aliquot” principal used in the TruMac®.
Carbon and Sulfur are detected by their Oxides (CO2 and SO2), formed during combustion, with IR cells using a fixed wave length. Nitrogen is measured by a thermal conductivity cell as N2.
Liquid and solid samples can easily be analyzed, a thermoelectric cooler is available for fast removal of water (moisture or formed during combustion) without chemicals.
A 50 position autoloader is integrated for unattended operation, e.g. during the night.
Typical applications for the TruMac® are soil, plants environmental samples or chemical applications. Another field for Nitrogen only systems is the analysis of protein in food or feed. (Dumas principle)
