A new technical report is available from Porvair Sciences Ltd. that investigates and demonstrates the importance of high quality raw material selection for the manufacture of deep well microplates.
Deep-well plates today find widespread use in rapidly expanding applications including cell growth monitoring, combinatorial chemistry and sample storage. In all these applications it is critical that the deep well plates do not negatively impact sample integrity.
The report details and illustrates the methodology and results from GC-MS analysis of the extractables obtained from a range of commercially available deep well plates. The report demonstrates a good correlation between the Porvair deep well plates and ultra pure control samples in glass tubes. By comparison other commercial microplates tested displayed extra GCMS peaks identified as chemicals used as additives in the polypropylene to assist the injection moulding process.
