Purospher® STAR HPLC and UHPLC columns

Columns based on high-purity silica for complex HPLC separations with excellent peak symmetry

by Merck Millipore

Purospher® STAR RP-18 endcapped HPLC columns are designed for universal use in chromatography.

Due to the absence of metals in the silica matrix, and combined with an optimized surface coating and shielding process, Purospher® columns provide tailing-free separations of acidic, basic, and chelating compounds.

Thanks to its outstanding performance and stability, Purospher® STAR RP-18 endcapped columns allow maximum flexibility in method development.

Robust methods can be developed across the entire pH spectrum from 1.5 to 10.5, enabling the use of the complete range of mobile phases and temperatures.

Benefits at a glance:

  • Excellent peak shape for all types of acidic, basic and metal chelating analytes due to high-purity silica
  • Best all-round performance and broad selectivity for many applications
  • Extraordinary pH stability from pH 1.5 – 10.5 for a wide application range
  • Outstanding batch-to-batch reproducibility for excellent separation efficiency to achieve reliable results

UHPLC columns based on Purospher® STAR RP-18 endcapped are ideal for ultra-fast applications where resolution, sensitivity and sample throughput are crucial.

They are available as optimized 2 µm particulate silica and are the first choice for high-throughput screening and quality control analyses, process monitoring, method development, and LC/MS applications.

By changing to Purospher® STAR RP-18 endcapped UHPLC columns of 2.1 mm ID, users can increase the speed of separation by a factor of 10 and can decrease solvent consumption by up to 90%. This will increase efficiency while reducing costs.
