With its intuitive man machine interface the M800 is easily operated by the touchscreen color display.
Multi-parameter concept
The new M800 from METTLER TOLEDO is a transmitter for water and process analytics which provides maximum comfort and a high level of safety for plant operation by its outstanding man machine interface and integrated diagnostics. This is based on the Intelligent Sensor Management (ISM®) which has been established as the standard for digital sensors in process analytics.
The M800 reads up to 4 different sensors in parallel and covers the following measurements: pH, ORP, dissolved oxygen (amperometric and optical), conductivity / specific resistance, dissolved ozone, dissolved carbon dioxide and TOC (Total Organic Carbon).

By covering the most common measurements by only one device operators can reduce the variety of the instruments used so far which simplifies stocking and training because all measurements can be accessed by the same MMI. This does not only reduce costs during installation and commissioning, also the operation of the instrument becomes much easier and more secure.
Innovative concept of operation
The M800 is accessed through a self-explaining menu with clear text and easy understandable icons. The high resolution touchscreen colour display supports ideally the intuitive operation which almost needs no operation manual. With the multipurpose power supply from 24 V AC/DC to 240 V AC and the choice of 10 languages the M800 can be operated world wide. Different operation conditions are indicated by differente colours (green - yellow - red). Beside the primary measuring values also auxiliary readings (e.g. temperature) and derived measurements (e.g. delta pH) or sensor diagnostic information can be displayed (e.g. diaphragm impedance).
Comprehensive sensor diagnostics
ISM® sensors provide diagnostic information which monitor and estimate the condition of the sensor in the process. In the case of malfunction the operator receives not only an error message but also a concrete advice for maintanence. ISM® sensors detect when cleaning (TTM - Time To Maintenance), calibration (ACT - Adaptive Calibration Timer) or replacement (DLI - Dynamic Lifetime Indicator) of the sensor is required. This guarantees for error free operation of the sensor and higher process safety. Down times and loss of production are avoided.
Plug and Measure
ISM® sensors transmit readings not only digital and error free over long distances they also store all relevant data. When connecting the sensor to the transmitter they are automatically recognized (type, serial number, calibration data, specific sensor properties) and the measuring system is correctly configured by itself. Maintenance and calibration must not be performed at the measuring point under unconvenient circumstances any more but are now done in the maintenance shop under reproducable conditions. At the measuring point sensors are only replaced. By extending the sensor's operation time and performing a maintenance only when necessary the costs for analytical measurements can be reduced by 25 upt to 40 %. At the same time process safety is increased, down times are reduced.
