The most versatile DSC system for research & development, quality assurance, failure analysis & process optimization

DSC 204 F1 Phoenix® - Differential Scanning Calorimeter

by NETZSCH-Gerätebau GmbH

DSC 204 F1 Phoenix®-ASC

All of the essential functional modules are integrated into the instrument, and any desired extensions can be added on location at any time.

Exchangeable Sensors

τ-Sensor:
Advantage: High calorimetric sensitivity with exceptionally small signal time constants
Your benefit: Perfect separation of thermal effects situated close to each other

µ-Sensor:
Advantage: High calorimetric sensitivity previously not achievable in a DSC
Your benefit: Even low sample masses yield meaningful results

Highly Precise Gas Control

The gas-tight design of the DSC cell allows for measurement under very pure, defined gas atmospheres. Integrated, calibrated mass flow controllers are responsible for the precise gas control and automatic change-over.

DSC- Measuring Cell

The DSC measuring cell is made of a highly temperature-conducting cylindrical block of silver with

  • an integrated, protected heat conductor for comprehensive thermal symmetry (3D symmetry) in the sample chamber
  • cooling ducts for liquid nitrogen or compressed air cooling
  • a cooling ring for the connector to the Intracooler

A Variety of Application Fields

The No. 1 thermo-analytical method for polymers is DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry), with which thermal effects and derivational magnitudes for such properties as melting, crystallization, crosslinking, glass transition, specific heat, and oxidation can be investigated.

The degree of purity of pharmaceutical active ingredients derived from melting behavior, the oxidation of fats and oils, or the curing of adhesives and powder paints are only some of the many topics that can be studied with DSC.

The melting and crystallization behavior of synthetic or natural raw materials, along with a great variety of additives, can be investigated withDifferential Scanning Calorimetry(DSC) For sealing materials, the glass transition temperature is analyzed in the low temperature range, since it describes the cold flexibility.
