The 5000TOC sensor utilizes the well-proven principle of dynamic UV oxidation. Compared to batch oxidation the 5000TOC provides a real measuring result every 3 seconds.

The reaction time is extremely short. A change of the TOC content is detected within 1 minute. Hence, the water quality is really controlled online and in real time. 

The determination of differential conductivity before and after dynamic UV oxidation has the following advantages compared with other methods:

  • no chemicals or moving parts
  • no batch analysis but contineous measurement
  • shortest response time < 1 minute
  • simple and cost saving operation

The 5000TOC is predestined for all pure water applications where a fast TOC analytics is crucial for a save facility operation. The online TOC determination is not only more comprehensive, safer and more accurate and reproducable than an offline determination by grab sampling and measurement in the lab it also helps to save costs. The return on investment is reached in less than a year.

Suitable for all pure water applications
The 5000TOC meets the requirements of all industries which must monitor their water quality for TOC:

  • Pharmaceutical industry
    Monitoring of water for pharmaceutical purposes (PW / aqua purificata, HPW / aqua valde purificata, WFI / aqua ad iniectabilita) according to regulations of the pharmacopeias (USP, EP, JP, ChP) from storage tank over distribution system to points of use. Factory calibration and factory SST (system suitability test) are included in the delivery.
  • Power plants
    Especially designed for the requirements of water steam cycles. Typical applications are: control of desalination (after ion exchange or reverse osmosis), boiler feed water (conditioned or non-conditioned), condensate (before and after reconditioning), intermediate cooling cycles and stator cooling
  • Semiconductor industry
    The 5000TOC low ppb sensor comes with a special factory calibration for the low ppb and sub-ppb range for UPW (ultra pure water) in the microelectronics and photovoltaic industry. Typical applications are: preparation, storage and distribution of UPW, reclaim / recycle. The multi-point calibration procedure guarantees maximum accuracy over the complete measuring range from 0.025 to 1000 ppb C.

Low maintenance
The 5000TOC does not contain any maintenance intensive moving parts like pumps. It works without chemicals and membranes which have to be replaced regularly. So, operating costs are kept at the lowest level.

Attractive comprehensive package
The 5000TOC sensor is supplemented by the 770MAX transmitter - a multi-parameter 4-channel instrument which can operate up to 4 sensors in parallel. These measurements are available:

  • TOC
  • conductivity / resistivity
  • pH/ORP
  • dissolved oxygen
  • dissolved ozone

The 770MAX is easily accessible by the menu with clear text. 770MAX transmitter and up to 2 5000TOC sensors can be combined in any way. Sensor and device can be installed apart up to distances of 91 m cable length.

Plug and measure
The 5000TOC sensor transmits the measuring signal to the 770MAX transmitter which is the operating interface and transfers the measuring data to the PLC/PCS. All relevant data are stored in the 5000TOC and automatically read by the 700MAX. The self-configuring system is ready for operation within a few seconds.
