Carbon Fiber Slot Furnaces

Harper is the industry standard choice in continuous furnace technologies for the Carbon Fiber industry. Our involvement in Carbon Fiber began at the market’s inception in the 1970s, and since then we have been helping fiber manufacturers achieve new and ever greater heights with our continual evolution of design innovations.

Harper tailors each design to the customer’s requirements, considering the best possible solution for your needs in terms of element and muffle design, materials platform, and atmospheric considerations. Our experiences spans a variety of precursors including PAN, pitch, lignin, polyethylene, and rayon in tow, nonwoven mat, or discontinuous, loose fiber form. We also have the unique capability to offer true complete solutions with thoughtful gas treatment and handling systems and integrated control systems. Additionally, Harper is one of few in the market who push the boundaries of technology in offering Ultra High Temperature (UHT) furnace rated to 3000°C.

Rotary Furnaces

Harper rotaries offer exceptional versatility, reliability and energy efficiency for continuous processing of advanced materials such as granular, powder, or particulate aggregates in high purity and specialty atmosphere environments at temperatures up to 2400°C. Our designs include multiple patented features that enable better mixing, resulting in improved heat transfer and mass transfer.

Pusher Tunnel Furnaces

Harper’s pusher plate and tunnel kilns are designed for processes requiring precise control of temperature and atmosphere, ideal for those with longer residence times that require exact control of the heat up rate of the product (temperature profile) and lower gas/solid reaction. Our focus is on systems that offer the greatest operating life, lowest operating cost, and highest efficiency for the manufacturing of advanced materials.
