Separation of coeluting peaks in GC-analysis made very easy

SGE´s High Five GC-columns for various applications

Each of the SGE High Five columns has subtly different selectivity giving you the ability to modify your method without significant changes to established conditions, elution order or run times, to achieve resolution of co-eluting peaks.

The High Five GC Column range from SGE provides a variety of selectivities to suit your analyses:

1. BP5MS (5% Phenyl Polysilphenylene-siloxane)

  • High temperature
  • General Purpose GC column - suitable for over 80% of all routine analyses performed by gas chromatography
  • Very Low Bleed - ideal for trace analysis
  • Non-Polar
  • Extremely inert
  • Ideal for GC-MS

Optimized Silphenylene content for general purpose MS analyses, especially suited for Ultra trace analyses, pesticides/herbicides, hydrocarbons, solvents, phenols, amines, GC/MS and other specific detector applications

2. BP5 (5% Phenyl / 95% Dimethyl Polysiloxane)

  • Excellent general purpose GC column
  • Low bleed
  • Non-polar
  • High temperature
  • 320/340 °C upper temperature limit - dependent on film thickness.

Typical application Areas: Aromatics, pesticides, herbicides, drugs of abuse, hydrocarbons, GC/MS applications

3. BPX5 (5% Phenyl Polysilphenylene-siloxane)

  • High temperature.
  • General purpose GC column – suitable for over 80% of all routine analyses performed
  • by gas chromatography.
  • Very low bleed – ideal for trace analysis.
  • Non-polar.
  • Extremely inert.
  • Ideal for GC-MS.
  • 360 – 370 °C upper temperature limit – dependent on film thickness.

This extremely inert GC-column combined with very low bleed is ideal for Ultra trace analyses, pesticides/herbicides, hydrocarbons, solvents, phenols, amines, GC/MS and other specific detector applications.

4. HT5 (5% Phenyl-Polycarborane-siloxane)

  • Ultra high temperature columns.
  • Unique phase – no equivalent phases.
  • Ideal for simulated distillation applications (petroleum industry).
  • 460/480 °C upper temperature limit – Aluminum clad.
  • 380/400 °C upper temperature limit – Polyimide clad.
  • Bonded and cross-linked.
  • Able to be solvent rinsed.

Unique high temperature phase suited for simulated distillation and other petroleum applications. This column is the highest temperature column available with a maximum temperature up to 480°C

5. HT8 (8% Phenyl-Polycarborane-siloxane)

  • High temperature.
  • Low bleed.
  • Preferred column for polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) compounds.
  • Separates PCB’s on ortho ring substitution as well as boiling point.
  • Ideal for environmental analysis.
  • 360/370 °C upper temperature limit.
  • Unique high temperature phase suited for the analysis of persistent organic pollutants

Based on a robust carborane phase, HT8 offers unparalleled resolution of difficult analytes in environmental samples.

The HT8 column is a low-bleed, robust, high temperature column designed for PCB congener analyses, nitro-substituted aromatics, polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons, pesticides/herbicides.Separates PCB’s on ortho-ring substitution as well as boiling point.

SGE develops and synthesizes specialty polymers leading to SGE being the first, and often only, capillary chromatography company to offer many types of GC stationary phases. SGE was the first to introduce the now industry standard silarylene phases in 1987 with their improved thermal stability,

SGE offers a comprehensive GC capillary column range for almost any chromatographic application, providing the best possible combination of Performance, Robustness, Reproducibility, Low Bleed and Inertness. Advanced technology ensures brilliant results every time.
