The new GCMS-QP2010 Ultra from the co. Shimadzu is sensational when it comes to scan speed and sensitivity. With its maximum scan speed of 20.000 amu/s it is entering areas where up to now only ToF MS instruments have been used.
Sensitivity was increased, too: where the predecessor model QP2010 Plus was already regarded by many customers as the most sensitive GCMS on the market (especially for real world samples with high matrix content), a special cleaning procedure of the electronic flow control unit as well as doubling the frequency of the CPU board could reduce again significantly the electronic noise (>30%) which means an increase of S/N. Another important criterion for the development of the new GCMS-QP2010 Ultra was its use for routine analysis. Installation of two columns simultaneously in the MS interface significantly reduces downtime of the instrument. Special tuning procedures for samples with high matrix background guarantee long time stability of results.
In summary the new GCMS-QP2010 Ultra is the most flexible GCMS: a robust work- horse and at the same time suitable for high-end requirements in R+D.
For routine analysis in EI mode the new GCMS-QP2010 SE is an economic solution with excellent price/performance ratio.
Speed:
up to 20000amu/s for up to 100 Hz in scan mode; the GCMS-QP2010 Ultra is the most suitable quadrupole GCMS for comprehensive two-dimensional GC (GCxGC-MS) and fast GC. The variable rod bias voltage of the patented ASSP technology (Advanced Scanning Speed Protocol) allows for high scanning speed without loss of sensitivity.
Sensitivity:
1pg OFN in scan mode: S/N >500
Robustness:
different tuning modes guarantee long time stability of results
Flexibility:
2 columns simultaneously installed in the MS interface with full software integration make column changes unnecessary. Retro-fit of this feature is possible, as well as for Heart Cut or Comprehensive two-dimensional GCMS
Eco friendly:
Intelligent software functions of the Ecology mode help to reduce power and carrier gas consumption. In one year operation up to 1.1 tons of CO2 can be saved.
Software:
The GCMSsolution software with its unique features of Automatic Update of Retention times (AART), library search using linear retention indices and automatic SIM/scan table creation helps the user to be more productive.
Chromatography:
The new GCMS-QP2010 Ultra contains the recently awarded GC-2010 Plus with high precision advanced flow control, constant linear velocity mode, the capability for fast GC and many options like back flush, detector splitting etc. The new GCMS-QP2010 Ultra can also be equipped with conventional GC detectors like FID or ECD.
