Lab dryer to simulate drying processes in motion

In cooperation with a leading pharmaceutical company in Switzerland, a new lab dryer and mixer, the BS-miniDRY^® for smallest product amounts of 150 to 1500 milliliters has been developed.

Small – Modular - Flexible - Mobile
During research and development the mostly only a few grams of a new substance is available. Even the kilo lab installations available on the market are too big for these small amounts, so that no reliable attempts or simulations can be carried out.

In order to guarantee representative results, for example for drying processes, laboratory dryers are necessary where the filling volumes are adjusted to the small amounts, are small, and to be able to be used for the processes to be simulated as flexibly as possible.

To fulfill this requirements, the new lab dryer has been developed with our partner. His experience in the lab field, combined with the know-how available in our house for the design and construction of contact dryers, made an advanced lab machine. With a flexible filling-volume of 150 ml to 1500 ml a great number of process conditions can be simulated.

One highlight is the redesigned, optional available hybrid stirrer that opens the possibility for the lab dryer either to work as conical screw dryer, or to be used also as central shaft dryers.

Innovative technical developments facilitate this unique variability of the new BS-miniDRY^®. This gives the unique possibilities to test the general applicability and to compare the lab results of different stirrer types directly with each other.

Upshot:
Entirely new work and simulation possibilities turn out through the use of the new lab dryer during the development of the new products in the laboratory standard.

Processes with small product amounts, below the amounts for kilo lab installations, can be simulated now to an early time of the development in order to gain already now important findings for the later, practical conversion in the production standard, as well as their optimization.
