For the example of coke production, the energy interaction in power units is considered on the basis of an information-thermodynamic approach. The energy interaction may expediently be described at different hierarchical levels of the system, so as to establish trends in the design of optimal equipment. In particular, the optimization of the coking furnace’s heating system at the macro level is considered in terms of the macroentropy. An analytical approach to optimization by means of undetermined Lagrangian multipliers is proposed. On that basis, optimal thermodynamic levels of transformation are predicted, and the predictions are interpreted in technological terms.
