Directional self‐assembly with both positional and orientational order has been achieved by the self‐assembly of metal–organic framework (MOF) colloids. In their Communication (DOI: 10.1002/anie.201109132), S. Granick and N. Yanai report the formation of well‐defined clusters and hexagonal arrangements by directional facet‐to‐facet attraction between colloidal MOF crystals through simple van der Waals interactions. This general method may lead to the cross‐fertilization of MOF and colloid sciences.
