Utilizing the phenol byproducts of coke production 4. Energy-saving synthesis of effective polymerization inhibitors for the processing of liquid pyrolytic products

Experimental data are presented for the oxidative oligomerization of phenol byproducts from coke production by alkali-metal persulfates, so as to obtain an effective inhibitor of the thermopolymerization of liquid pyrolytic products. The product exhibits strong inhibiting properties in the heat treatment of pyrocondensates and matches the effectiveness of the well-known inhibitor tert-butyl catechol, which is a sterically hindered diatomic phenol.
