Description:
GPC/SEC has established itself as one of most important tools for the purification of proteins.
Whilst the separation technique is well established and well understood, many users are unaware of recent developments in detector technology and in particular how the molecular weight and hydrodynamic radius of the proteins can be easily determined via a combination of detectors.
The new technology will be described. There will be a minimum of theory. Far more is the emphasis on application areas, limitations and tips and tricks from our users.

The use of dynamic light scattering to measure the hydrodynamic radius of proteins delivers reliable informatiton about the state of aggregation of proteins. New developments in this field will be described, once again with the focus on application and with just enough theory to make the technique understandable.
