Uhde GmbH: Dr. Michael Thiemann becomes Chairman of the Executive Board

25 Jun 2009 - Dr. Michael Thiemann took over as Chairman of the Executive Board of Uhde GmbH. He studied process engineering at RWTH Aachen University, before completing his chemical engineering doctorate in polymer dispersion at Dortmund University. In 1978 he joined Uhde and was responsible for the commissioning activities of the globally active Uhde group in Canada, Greece, Pakistan, India and Germany. Between 1983 and 1986 he assumed the role of head of Uhde’s process engineering department, becoming Head of Technical Division II (Fertilisers) in 1987. In 1994 he moved to Uhde India Ltd., Uhde’s Indian subsidiary based in Mumbai, to become Vice Chairman and Managing Director, overseeing the company’s expansion into one of India’s leading engineering companies. In addition to performing his duties at the company, he chaired the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce in Mumbai from 2003 to 2004. On June 1, 2007 he was appointed to the Executive Board of Uhde GmbH.
