Accident at Yara Tertre plant in Belgium

01 Jul 2009 - An accident at the Tertre plant is likely to halt ammonia production for a prolonged period. Two people were injured, but their injuries are not critical. The explosion took place early Saturday morning. An assessment will be carried out into the possible consequences on the rest of the Terte operation.

 
The plant has an annual production volume of 420,000 tonnes ammonia and 920,000 tonnes of finished fertilizer products. The reason for the accident has not yet been established, but an investigation has been initiated, included the impact on the fertilizer production.
