New Cation-Exchange Column Available for Hydrophobic and Polyvalent Amines

11 Dec 2002 - Dionex Corporation introduces the new IonPac® CS17 moderate capacity cation-exchange column designed for gradient profiling and for the determination of hydrophobic and polyvalent amines including alkylamines, diamines, and biogenic amines. The CS17 column also is ideal for separating certain hydrophilic amines including alkanolamines. Designed for use with optimized ion chromatography techniques featuring simple aqueous eluents, the CS17 column separates amines and the Group I and II cations in diverse sample matrices such as drinking water, wastewater, ground water, power plant cooling waters, chemical additives, chemical process solutions, scrubber solutions, and plating baths.

The CS17 is solvent compatible, solvents can be used to modify column selectivity for very hydrophobic or high molecular weight amines, to facilitate column clean-up after the analysis of complex matrices, or to enhance sample solubility. The column is available in both 4-mm (standard bore) and 2-mm (microbore) formats.
