Easy/Automated Particle Counting and Identification with RAMAN Spectroscopy

24 Mar 2005 - Until recently, identifying particle contaminants has been a costly and time consuming process. Contaminants are only preventable if their source can be revealed. Therefore, Rap.ID Particle Systems, in conjunction with leading pharmaceutical companies, has developed the Single Particle Explorer®.

The Single Particle Explorer® uses a patented system for the isolation of particles, in order to automatically and reliably count particles on the filter membrane. All microscopic images of the particles are documented and analyzed automatically. Parameters such as number, length, width, and shape of the particles can be measured. The identification of particles with a size of less then a micrometer is possible through automated Raman spectroscopy and interpretation of the integrated database. Each measurement is comprehensively reported and the system is designed in compliance with cGMP.
