NanoHorizons to Fund Small Molecule Mass Spectrometry Research Projects25 Apr 2005 - NanoHorizons, Inc. announced the launch of its Sponsored Research Program focused on applications of the company's QuickMass(TM) technologyQuickMass is a deposited thin-film system for high-throughput small-molecule mass spectrometry. QuickMass-enhanced targets enable MALDI mass spectrometers to be used for accurate and convenient small molecule analysis using matrix-less and thin-layer matrix test techniques. Disposable QuickMass plates use a nanoscale material system that is stable and sensitive. These plates have been used to test a wide variety of small molecules (<1000amu) such as natural products, combinatorial chemistry products and polymers. The disposable plates are intended to replace reusable steel targets for use in a broad range of current and future LDI/MALDI applications. Proposals to participate in the QuickMass Sponsored Research Program should focus on applications comparing the performance of QuickMass to ESI-MS over the 0-1000amu range; comparing the performance of MALDI-MS on QuickMass plates and on reusable steel plates; testing matrix reduction techniques on QuickMass plates; and developing protocols for biomarkers, ADME, combinatorial chemistry, bio-chemical testing or related fields. They should include budget, timeline with reporting dates, and proposal team's experience. Further information: http://www.nanohorizons.com/RFP%20QuickMass.pdf News regarding Products
