Rap.ID's Particle Explorer Identifies Particles In Products of the Growing Pharmaceuticals Market
27 Jun 2005 -
Since December, the development and quality assurance of new types of biopharmaceuticals at a major pharma company in Eastern Switzerland have been facilitated through the use of rap.ID Particle Systems' Liquid Particle Explorer. The particle analysis system allows the customer, who is specialized in developing monoclonal antibody therapy products, to characterize micro-particles through image analysis and, at the same time, to identify them through Raman spectroscopy. With its analysis devices and services, rap.ID is the international leader in the identification of particles in high-purity drugs through its automated micro-Raman spectroscopy.
"Our complete technical solution, which combines simple filtration of the products through membranes and automated Raman spectroscopy, now allows us to reliably count and, more, to chemically identify even the smallest particulate substances," as the responsible researcher at the department for analytical development points out. "We are particularly glad that the commissioned analyses successfully carried out by rap.ID enable us to employ the methods we develop and, thus, immediately produce results."
