Bayer Industry Services reaccredited to ISO 17025

03 Apr 2007 - The methods of measurement employed by the Technical Safety Laboratory of Bayer Industry Services' (BIS) Process and Plant Safety Business Unit meet the strictest quality demands. This was recently confirmed once again by the German Accreditation Body for Chemistry (Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle Chemie = DACH). The awarding of the relevant certificate brings the time-consuming process of reaccreditation to ISO 17025 formally to a close, at least for the next five years. During the prior inspection, the auditors saw for themselves the procedures followed in the laboratory, conducted discussions with employees and reviewed the documentation. The certificate covers the entire performance spectrum of the laboratory.

"The accreditation shows that the analysis results in the laboratory meet the highest demands in terms of reliability that the customers expect from us. In particular our analyses in connection with REACH or the Globally Harmonized System (e.g. explosiveness testing) and on fire and ignition behavior or the thermal stability of substances must be carried out to the highest precision to assure safety," explains Dr. Albert Eberz, head of Explosion Protection and Chemical Safety at BIS, and Dr. Michael Schriewer, head of the Technical Safety Laboratory.
