Oxea Increases Oxo Alcohol Capacity in North America

28 Jan 2008 - Steadily increasing customer demand has prompted Oxea to expand its oxo alcohols capacity at its North American production site in Bay City/Texas. Oxea will boost its capacity for the production of propionaldehyde and n-propanol by ten percent by mid-2008. The new oxo alcohol investment follows the company's announcement of increased production capacity for carboxylic acids and NPG (neopentylgylcol). Oxea's goals are to further expand into high-growth markets and optimize its own value chain and product portfolio.

Propionaldehyde is used e.g. for solvents and flotation chemicals. N-propanol is an important ingredient of lacquers and paints.
