Chemtura Increases Prices on Bisphosphate Flame Retardants

13 Jun 2008 - Effective June 15th, 2008, or as contract terms allow, Chemtura Corporation will increase pricing for Reofos(R) BAPP and Reofos(R) RDP aryl bisphosphate ester flame retardants by $0.65 per kilogram in all regions. Chemtura is also removing all extended price validity.

According to the company, this increase has become necessary due to sharp and continuing rises in the cost of elemental phosphorus, a key component of these products, together with significant increases in other raw materials, utilities and transportation costs. The steep increases on these costs create the additional necessity to remove price validity beyond 15 days. This allows the flexibility to change price at a rate that maintains a sustainable supply.
