Oxea announces temporary fuel surcharges

11 Jul 2008 - Effective August 1, the global chemical company Oxea will implement a fuel surcharge of US$300 per shipment by truck and US$600 per shipment by rail. The surcharge applies to deliveries within North America and will be removed when fuel prices return to normal levels.

"Fuel prices have reached extraordinarily high levels. We have made several rounds of tough negotiations with Oxea's transportation providers. However, current circumstances have forced us to pass a portion of these cost increases through to our customers", said Miguel Mantas, a member of the Executive Board of Oxea.

"This fuel surcharge is not a price increase", Mantas emphasized: "It will be removed when fuel prices return to normal levels. We trust that our customers understand why we are implementing this surcharge and we appreciate their continued support of our business."
