BASF shares were included in the DJSI World for the eighth year in succession in 2008. The companies that are included have to improve from year to year and are selected by analysts from Sustainable Asset Management Group (SAM). This year, SAM scrutinized almost 90 criteria to generate comprehensive evaluations of the companies with respect to sustainability. Among other things, the questions referred to customer satisfaction and compliance, product stewardship and climate protection as well as ecological and social standards for suppliers.
