Kao Chemicals Europe signs agreement to sell part of fatty amine business in Europe to Akzo Nobel

16 Oct 2008 - Kao Chemicals Europe S.L. has signed an agreement to sell part of its Fatty Amine business in Europe to Akzo Nobelīs Surface Chemistry. The agreement will be completed during the 4th quarter of 2008. Kao Chemicals Europe sells some part of Fatty Amine Business and continues other part such as Asphalt and Fertilizer additives etc.

 
"This transaction will enhance our business and optimize our resources. We are focusing on our core markets and activities, in line with our strategy : profitable growth,” explained Dr. Takatoshi Kobayashi, president and CEO of Kao Chemicals Europe.
 
Unions and employee representative bodies have been informed and consultation procedures will begin shortly, where applicable.
