Glastechnik is a small family owned producer in Gräfenroda. As producer of vials and caps, we are trying to perceive the requirements of the laboratories and to develop corresponding innovative products as solutions for these requirements. We are proud that in the good 20 years of our existence as a newly founded company after the Fall of the Berlin Wall, we have repeatedly achieved this together with our Swiss partner infochroma ag.

Listed in chronological order, we launched the µ-Vial, a 12 x 32 mm standard vial which has a common base with the fused 350 µl insert in 1995. This was shortly after followed by the Vµ-Vial, which in Germany is also known as the "Vase Vial". The ingenious "foot" allows sampling of bigger volumes with a minimal restvolume and the simple production process, makes it an economic solution to classic solutions available on the market. In addition the form as well as the production process are protected by an European patent.

Completing this line is our iV2µ-Vial, which has a 250 µl insert that carries the cap and is fused into a body that corresponds with the classic geometry of a 12 x 32 mm vial. This vial is the ultimate solution for critical applications, and the demand for it particularly in pharmaceutical research is increasing exponentially.

Besides our developments in autosampler vial micro sampling, our patented VMax Vase Vials for optimised micro sampling are an integral part of our programme. In addition we offer vial surface treatment. Thus we can add an opaque coating or customise, siliconise, silanise, wash, sterilise and pyrogenise vials.

In addition, we have a comprehensive Storage and Septum Vial programme set apart from common solutions. Storage and Septum Vials differ in the screw cap, which is either closed-top or open-top and they are used for sample transport and storage - keyword storage sample. We have adapted our system to European needs. In addition to the American volumes that are based on ounces our vials are available in millilitre units of 2.5 ml, 5 ml, 10 ml etc. to give you the choice of "fat-short" or "long-thin" vials depending on the sample and application. All caps are available in 6 individual colours to allow easy colour coding. Packaging is in units of 100 pcs in high quality card board boxes with a divider to allow neat storage of the samples directly in the supplied packaging.

We also cogitated on screw-top Headspace Vials, as customers told us about problems with tightness of commonly available screw-top vials with magnetic metal cap. The result is a hexagonal cap, that seals tightly using minimal effort. The user can tell when the septum seals tightly and can close every vial tight and without problems. Because of the excellent sealing capacity of this headspace vial it is also ideally suited for hydrolysis.
