Micro mixers, valves, fluidic networks, or separation elements for e.g. electrophoresis can be combined with each other by a tool-box flexibility. The external geometry of the components is standardized – the one of a microscopy slide – the microstructure on the chips themselves comprise the application specific fluidics.

The advantage for the user: microfluidic ChipShop provides the injection molding tool, only the insert with the microstructures has to be individually made. This allows for a fast and cost-efficient fabrication of small and medium size series.
Connection to the Environment – The Chip-to-World Interface
The fluidic platforms are made for easy handling. The chip-to-world interface – the connection of the chip to e.g. external pumps or analytical instruments – is solved by integrated fluidic interfaces. Depending on chip type 2 or 28 fluidic interfaces form an integral part of the chip, to enable an easy and reliable injection and aspiration of the sample.
