VisSim - Modelling, Simulation & Control System Design

VisSim is an Windows-based software program for the modelling and simulation of complex dynamic systems. VisSim combines an intuitive drag-and-drop block diagram interface with a powerful simulation engine. The visual block diagram interface offers a simple method for constructing, modifying and maintaining complex system models. The simulation engine provides fast and accurate solutions for linear, nonlinear, continuous time, discrete time, time varying and hybrid system designs.

VisSim provides a fully integrated control system design environment where all design and simulation tasks can be completed without writing a line of code. Furthermore, VisSim offers unprecedented ease-of-use and consequently a shorter learning curve than competitive systems. Less time training - more time engineering!

The VisSim/Viewer enables users to distribute VisSim models and simulations freely to colleagues and customers who are not themselves licenced to use VisSim. Model integrity is preserved by prohibiting recipients from changing wiring and model structure. However, recipients of the Viewer are able to change block and simulation parameters, optimise gains, perform interactive "what-if " scenarios and customise histogram, plot and stripChart blocks.

Add-On Products:

  • VisSim/OPC: VisSim/OPC provides universal communication with any OPC (OLE for Process Control) compliant server. Using VisSim/OPC, you can easily log data or run a virtual plant in VisSim for offline tuning or operator training. To exchange data between VisSim and any OPC server, you simply insert OPC Read and OPC Write blocks, wire them to the diagram.
  • VisSim/Analyze: Linearizes non-linear systems. Performs Bode, root locus and Nyquist analysis of continuous and discrete systems. Provides pole placement control design.
  • VisSim/OptimizePRO: VisSim/OptimizePRO calculates optimal values for design variables subject to user-defined constraints starting from initial user guess values.
  • VisSim/C-Code: VisSim/C-Code automatically converts VisSim models into highly optimized, ANSI C code that can be compiled and run on any platform that supports an ANSI C compiler.
  • VisSim/Fixed Point: VisSim/Fixed Point simulates the behaviour of fixed-point algorithms prior to code generation and implementation of the algorithm on fixed-point hardware. You can simulate fixed-point algorithms - such as, controllers or filters - together with floating point components - such as, motor or amplifier models - to validate their behaviour in a “virtual” system prototype.
  • VisSim/Real-TimePRO: VisSim/Real-TimePRO provides the capability to couple a system model directly with a real process or controller for real-time hardware-in-the-loop simulation and validation. Communication to the test stand/prototype/control hardware through standard data acquisition cards. No programming required.
  • VisSim/NeuralNet: VisSim/NeuralNet excels at nonlinear system identification, problem diagnosis, decision making, prediction, and other problems where pattern recognition is important and precise computational answers are not readily available.
  • VisSim/ModelWizard: A wizard-based product that generates a transfer function model form historic or real-time data.
  • VisSim/Motion: A block set that enables engineers to model and simulate motion control systems by using a pre-built motion component library.
