A controller for all fixed gas detection systems
Statox 501 Controller

The Compur Statox 501 Controller is a very versatile control module, capable to handle all kinds of sensor heads. Each controller in conjunction with a sensor head represents a complete gas detection system, equipped with digital display, analog 4 - 20 mA output and 3 powerful relays (alarm 1, alarm 2, system fail) that can handle up to 2 A.
The Statox 501 controller as compact as it is, requires little space and energy: 5 W and
24 V DC. The more powerful its performance! It provides the following functions:
- Halfbridge, display, relay station and calibration unit for catalytic sensors. In case a very long cable is used, it provides even two “sense” contacts compensating for voltage drop in the cable
- Display and relay station for transmitters operating as source
- Display and relay station for transmitters operating as gap
- Halfbridge, display, relay station and calibration unit for infrared sensors. In case a very long cable is used, it provides two “sense” contacts compensating for voltage drop in the cable

Sensor heads and peripheral instrumentation is very easy to connect, as all contacts are accessible from the front side.
The 24 V DC power supply as well as the digital alarm signals run on an internal bus from one controller to the next. Thus alarm groups can be formed, of which the acoustic alarm can be separately reset.
The following parameters can easily be programmed by push button:
- Type of the sensor head connected
- Measuring range of the sensor head connected
- Unit of the sensor head connected
- Bridge voltage of the sensor head connected (catalytic sensors)
- Gas of the sensor head connected
- Zero and span of the sensor head connected (catalytic)
- Zero and span of the sensor head connected (infrared)
- Alarm thresholds
- Alarm high / low
- Alarms latching / non latching
- Relays active / passive
- Test program for peripheral instruments providing 4, 12 und 20 mA

The Statox 501 Controller makes the access to high class gas detection easy and inexpensive.
On top of that, Compur has a good name in designing and manufacturing complete custom – made gas detection systems integrated into fully wired cabinets, equipped with visual and audible alarms, interruption free power supplies etc.
