With new concepts based on micro system technology, SLS MICRO TECHNOLOGY (SLS) succeeded to combine all fluidic and electronic components of a gas chromatograph into only one printed plate of the size of a modern PDA (13,0 x 6,5 x 2,4 cm). The module is equipped with a tiny thermal conductivity detector and can be fitted with different thin film or packed columns. As a result it can be adapted optimally to different analysis problems. This allows a previously unimagined fast, mobile, self-sufficient, simple and economic analysis of gas mixtures. On that account not only a quantum leap in miniaturization is achieved, at the same time energy and media consumption are reduced drastically. It is designed especially for the integration in various end devices.
The GCM 5000 offers the following advantages while at the same time being just as functional as conventional gas chromatographs:

The SLS micro GC module is not only clearly more compact, but also more durable as conventional, gas chromatographic systems. It allows the analysis of aggressive gas components such as sulphur, without damaging the separation column or the detector. Because of the high sensitivity of the TCD, detection levels reach down to 10 ppm.
Due to its modular concept, the module requires virtually no service operating expenses. Integrated micro process technology and sophisticated software allow for parameterisation, calibration, data evaluation and data output via standard interfaces. So self-diagnosis, automatic recalibration and self-validation functions can be realized.
Due to the advantages stated above, the SLS micro GC module allows for continuous measurements directly in the process and thus unveils potential for an increase in the efficiency of the production. This leads to a higher ratio, better product quality, more security for plants and fewer emissions.
