Increase the sensitivity of your nucleic-acid based pathogen detection

SIRS-Lab’s product line LOOXSTER® is an innovative system for DNA sample preparation of bacterial and fungal pathogens from medical research, food and environmental origins.

LOOXSTER® is based on the proprietary Pureprove® technology, which allows a specific binding of bacterial and fungal DNA on a concentration matrix and therefore enables the elimination of the bulk of human DNA background. Starting with total DNA preparations, the bacterial DNA is specifically concentrated in a few wash and elution steps. The simultaneous depletion of unbound components thus allows a significant increase in the sensitivity of nucleic acid-based detection methods. Therefore, LOOXSTER® is a universal system for the concentration of bacterial and fungal DNA which can be combined with all current pathogen detection methods and is independent from the microbiological application field.

Benefits of the LOOXSTER® at a glance:

  • Captures and concentrates bacterial and fungal DNA contained in total DNA preparations, e. g. whole blood, ascites
  • Removes more than 90% of human background DNA as well as inhibitors of amplification-based methods
  • Clear increase in the sensitivity of nucleic acid-based pathogen detection methods
  • Retains all kind of bacterial DNA present within a sample including phagocytized and intracellular bacteria as well as free bacterial DNA
  • Works with most DNA amplification methods
  • Validated on clinical samples
  • Small expenditure of time
  • Is based on the unique functional principle of the Pureprove® technology
