Environmental Chemistry - Environmental problems, chemical approaches - is a peer-reviewed scientific journal publishing original research and review articles on all aspects of environmental chemistry. The Journal publishes manuscripts addressing the chemistry of the environment (air, water, soil, sediments, space, and biota) including atmospheric chemistry, (bio)geochemistry, climate change, marine chemistry, water chemistry, polar chemistry, fire chemistry, astrochemistry, earth and geochemistry, soil and sediment chemistry and chemical toxicology. The journal aims to facilitate links between these aspects of environmental science, and thus papers that are multidisciplinary, and that view the environment as an integrated earth system, are particularly encouraged.

Papers are written in a style that is accessible to those outside the field, as the readership will include - in addition to chemists - biologists, toxicologists, soil scientists, and workers from government and industrial institutions. While focussing on the publication of important new original research and timely reviews, the journal also publishes essays and opinion pieces on issues of importance to environmental scientists, such as policy and funding.

Environmental Chemistry is published monthly by CSIRO PUBLISHING, an independent business unit within the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).

The Managing Editor is Dr Alison Green. The journal is supported by the Royal Australian Chemical Institute with a regular article by Dr Green in the Institute's monthy magazine, Chemistry in Australia.
