Reichhold Introduces DION® XTREME Family of Urethane Hybrid Resins

29-Sep-2003

Reichhold has introduced a new family of urethane hybrid resins for composites in DION® XTREME. These resins exhibit superior toughness and impact resistance vs. traditional polyester resins while maintaining structural grade strength and stiffness.

Developed for use in a wide range of applications, the initial product offering is DION® XTREME 31040 for pultrusion. It is a medium-to-highly reactive hybrid urethane-based resin developed to provide excellent impact strength in finished composite parts.

DION XTREME 31040 is a tough resin system with excellent short-beam shear properties, as compared to conventional polyester and vinyl ester resins. It is specially designed for applications where tougher, high short-beam shear properties are required in addition to smooth surface finishes.

Designed for composite applications where high impact resistance, high fatigue resistance and excellent mechanical properties are critical, DION XTREME 31040 will meet the needs of applications such as waterfront structures, power transmission apparatus, door panels, truck and bus panels and profiles.
