Sigma Diagnostics Signs New Distribution Agreement for Coagulation Systems

Sigma diagnostics, a division of Sigma-Aldrich Corporation (NASDAQ:SIAL), announced today it has signed a three-year distribution agreement with Allegiance Healthcare Corporation for its coagulation systems. Starting July 1, 2001, Allegiance will be the exclusive national distributor for Sigma Diagnostics coagulation systems including reagents, controls and Sigma-Amelung analyzers. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Under the agreement, Allegiance will have the right to distribute all of Sigma Diagnostics' coagulation products. This includes the automated AMAX series (AMAX 190, AMAX 190m, AMAX 400) and manual systems (KC1, KC 4), including the recently released Sigma-Amelung AMAX 200 and AUTO D-Dimer kit. Sigma markets a full line of coagulation reagents optimized to the Sigma-Amelung Systems. This agreement will enhance Sigma Diagnostics' ability to meet the needs of coagulation customers.
