Dow Corning Korea received the $100 million Export Tower Award at the 43rd annual Trade Day ceremony. The company became the first silicone provider in Korea to surpass the $100 million mark in annual exports. Korean President Roh Moo-hyun presented the awards.
The Korean government presents Export Tower Awards each year to companies exporting goods worth between $1 million and $25 billion at the Trade Day ceremony, which is co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy and the Korea International Trade Association. Winners were selected on the basis of their export performance from July last year through June this year.
Dow Corning Korea's export award came as a result of its contributions to boosting domestic exports and playing a pivotal role in developing Korea's silicone industry. This year, Dow Corning Korea was one of five multinational companies to receive the $100 million Export Tower Award. The award was accompanied by the Prime Minister's Medal of Appreciation.
