LANXESS: Sale of Textile Processing Chemicals business successfully completed

LANXESS AG successfully completed the sale of its Textile Processing chemicals (TPC) business by the end of 2006 as expected. All the activities of the Textile Processing Chemicals business unit outside of North America have been acquired by Dutch investor Egeria and business unit management. The transfer of essential parts of these activities already took legal and economic effect on January 1, 2007. The local transfer of the remaining activities outside of North America will take place with legal effect in the course of the first half of 2007 as planned.
US investor StarChem, manufacturer of textile and specialty chemicals, has acquired the sites at Wellford (South Carolina, U.S.A.) and Montreal (Canada). The closing of this transaction took place with legal and economic effect as of January 1, 2007.
