Krupp Uhde wins second major contract from Iran

Krupp Uhde has won a second major contract for the construction of a polyethylene plant in Iran within a space of only 8 weeks. The customer is the Jam Petrochemical Company, a subsidiary of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), Teheran. This plant will also have a capacity of 300,000 tonnes per year. It will be situated in Bandar Assaluyeh on the Persian Gulf.

In parallel to this, the licence agreement was also signed by Basell and the Jam Petrochemical Company.

This plant, using the Basell Hostalen technology, will produce ultramodern plastic pellets to be further processed into pipes, film and large and small mouldings.

The contract value for the complete production facility amounts to almost DM 250 million.

The entire project will be financed by an international consortium lead-managed by the Deutsche Bank and with Hermes export credit guaranty.

Krupp Uhde will execute the project with the Iranian partner Sazeh Consultants,Teheran, who will carry out the detail engineering and procure the equipment manufactured locally. Krupp Uhde will also assume the leadership, take responsibility for the basic engineering, supply all import equipment and offer technical assistance for the project.

Mechanical completion of the new plant is scheduled 30 months after entry into effect of the contract.

The Jam Petrochemical Company will be responsible for the assembly and operation of the plant.
