Degussa Feed Additives - New Website with E-Business Functionality. Innovative technology, up-to-date and user-friendly

With its improved website (www.aminoacidsandmore.com), the Feed additives Business Unit of Degussa AG, Düsseldorf, Germany, is presenting a specially developed, redesigned portal solution. The new site can be used even more efficiently by customers and the general public. Besides new and more detailed information on products and services, the portal also offers the first e-business functionality by F@cesTM (Feed Additives Commercial Electronic Solutions). When it was developed, the highest priority was placed on providing a large amount of information and user-friendliness.
With the new portal Degussa Feed Additives has achieved for the first time a personalized workspace that allows the user to access individual services after he or she has initially registered. Customers can find out, for instance, about the status of their orders or obtain detailed information about products. With the technology, which is available for the first time and which recently received distinction with an IT innovation award, the business unit offers an even greater amount of relevance for its customers. News on current issues is available as is a database with comprehensive information on special animal nutrition topics that can be retrieved upon entry of the relevant keyword by the user.
Worldwide activities - faster flow of information
By facilitating a smooth and swifter flow of information, the business unit seeks to implement its market strategies even more effectively. By improving e-business through F@cesTM, it wants to strengthen its position as the world market leader in amino acids for animal nutrition. The Feed Additives Business Unit once again brought additional value to its customers with the publication of the revised version of the database AminoDatTM 2.0. For this compendium, 15,000 amino acid profiles from 109 different feed ingredients were analyzed in the laboratories of Degussa and stored in the database. AminoDatTM 2.0 is thus the largest database of its kind in the world and is available this year on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM also contains enhanced analysis tools a new description of the amino acid recommendations for swine and poultry.
Degussa AG is the only manufacturer worldwide that offers the three essential amino acids DL-methionine, L-Lysine (Biolys® 60) and
L-Threonine. These additives are mixed in animal feed in small quantities and thus increase its nutritional value. The products are currently being manufactured at five locations in four countries. However, due to constantly increasing demand, especially in Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe, existing plants undergo continuous improvement. The methionine intermediate methyl mercaptane will also be produced beginning this year at the Wesseling production site in Germany. Thus Degussa AG will produce all of the strategic raw materials for methionine.
